Far Away Pavilions...(Expo 2015, Milan~Italy) 2nd writeup
Note to Readers/Guests: This is my second write up after the crash/or web hacking of October 20, 2015 where all was lost/gone...Sorry for the confusion.

What a unique experience!
It will take me quite a while to write my impressions/thoughts during my alien visit to the Expo, in full detail, and at different steps. Needless to say that I visited many Pavilions, taking many pictures too!
First of ALL, I wish to thank the Expo Organization, especially the Press Office Team, for all their precious help and assistance. Mainly, one of the consultants on the job, Giordana (I will omit last name for privacy reasons). An Angel during my visit, always there, ready to help (also e-mail et all)!
Thank You so much! You are Precious!

I had been to the Italy Expo in June (You will find my story on that here, on another post), but only on a couple of short tours. Needless to say I stopped in Nepal, as a priority, and in tribute to their tragedy--the recent earthquake--therefore, my first stop. The pavilion was really beautiful (a picture on my other June post), but I felt a lot of sadness, almost feeling their pain.
These recent October weeks were dedicated to seeing as many pavilions as possible, and, I must say that each one had something special to offer!
Details on my experience with the *Faraway Pavilions* will follow...I'm on the run right now! (;o)*
(2015.10.12Mon.)
Glass light tubes from China with drawings...This had falcons (or eagles) flying across the tubes, while changing colors. I loved this and it reminded me of things I had seen when I lived in Formosa (Taiwan, Taipei) Photo credits: Melody Fox... Oct. 8, 2015/Thurs. (Nikon coolpix 3000) |
These days I've been drowning in Expo sightseeing, trying to see as many pavilions as possible and to learn something.
While visiting the Expo, it's not like traveling in the real country (and, believe me, I have traveled a lot!), but one learns many things and is confronted with different cultures all around, including the local hardships of countries concerned. In these months my awareness of problems throughout the planet has expanded and so has my knowledge. The problems related to water shortage, food, nourishment, energy, famine, etc., etc.. So many Pavilions have gone out of their way to give people (the guests visiting the Expo, in Milan, Italy) a true and realistic image and idea of what really goes on behind the *closed doors and windows* of each country involved (participating to the Expo) and what each country is doing to expand their produce, to reduce waste, in order to feed the world, for the new generations to come.
Blue Kuwait at night...oh what a pretty sight! (photo credits: Melody Fox, 2015.10.8Thurs., with Smart phone) |
One pavilion which I liked very much (and also brought tears to my eyes for all their effort) was the Kuwait one...A video was shown regarding the waste of water and it took us back in time, to eventually come back, into the future. The realization (through the eyes of Sara, a little girl) that water is very precious, and that it shouldn't be wasted, in order to *survive* in the future. Very technological indeed, and each different space in the pavilion showed the different temperatures and took us on a trip in the desert, with the wind, the wind storms, falcons flying in the sky...It was almost as if we were within the scene, the landscape itself. They had some beautiful fish tanks too...
Kuwait was founded as a harbor... (Photo credits: Melody Fox, 2015.10.8/Thurs. with my Motorola smartphone) |
Kazakhistan Performance Such a lovely experience! (photo credits: the Princess of Rock d(*_*)b ) |
Kazakhistan was an interesting place to visit, also for its high technology. For example, one of the things that impressed me was a drone that alerts farmers when deadly insects, especially locusts, start feasting on crops, destroying everything! The drone sends out a signal, so that farmers can intervene and save their produce.
Drone sends signal alerting farmers of locusts...(2015.10.13Tues.) |
An incredible video (using 4D glasses) took everyone on an unforgettable ride through landscapes, mountain sides, and the steepes, uphill, downhill, and it was just like being there on the spot (or almost).
Apples that weigh two pounds: can you imagine shaking the tree?! you gotta wear a helmet, that's for sure.

Two of the guides befriended me...cuties! Alles...they were both called the same way and are also friends in Kazakhistan, and live close to each other...How cool is that?! One Alles (the shorter gal) said that I looked very unusual, and different from all the other people she had seen so far, so I told her I was a DJ and a Journalist. She liked that very much and wanted to take a picture together. She also asked for my e-mail address and gave me hers. We shall definitely stay in touch...such sweet gals! (Alles, Alles, and Ana...Thank You for the double tour!)

Among several things, Korea showed their ways of providing food for the future, especially their ways of fermentation (up to 80 hours!). A couple of things that really impressed me were the facts that they have built many schools for children in Africa, also helping them with food, energy, water, etc., etc.... Who would have thought that from a place like Korea. Amazing...and I tip my hat to that!
While looking at their specialties, also furniture et all, I was reminded of my childhood days, living in those oriental countries, although briefly with my family, while my father was on assignments in this or that place.

To be continued (write up 2015.10.21/Wed., while travelling/updated 2015.10.25/Sun.)

A lot to write about, but I've been travelling around these days, and still am.
Some newvelties that will be unfolded soon: Japan and Italy! Two very interesting and awesome pavilions, each for different reasons: Japan for its highly technological aspects, including the *unicube*, a prototype by Honda, not on the market yet...but will be used in restaurants of the future. Italy for its architectural structure and for the mirrored rooms, plus other curiosities,
including a Gottuso painting! This and more, coming up soon!
(updated briefly on 2015.10.30/Friday)
Thank you Google Team... (;o)*
THANK you to the Google Team Help center!
Mishka, Great help! I really appreciate this...At least something is restored and that is precious! (October 21, 2015) I feel better and my smile is back...

The EXPO Experience: as seen by an Alien
Recently, during my travels, I went (well, it was in June 2015) to see the Expo in Milan, Italy (Europe).
It was a nice experience, no doubt, but, in my opinion, one day is not enough: one needs to go back several times, to be able to see the sites carefully, in detail, without having to *race* through them! I was happily surprised to see some of the different pavilions, and the countries involved, such as Iran, Kazakistan, and others. The whole world at your feet! What an awesome adventure...
It was with great sadness, instead, that I looked at the Tibet area: they were hit by the tragedy of the earthquake, with so many people being killed, and a country on their knees, being wiped out by natural causes...force majeur... (;o(*
Tibet cleverness and sadness at the same time...March on! (Photo credits: Melody Fox, June 2015)
They stopped everything , in the pavilion, all the construction work, etc., etc., to go back to their country, to help their own and others... Great architectural job, that, unfortunately (or luckily) was finished by workers from Brescia.
It brought tears to my eyes... Stay strong Tibet: Thou shall return into the light!
What was beautiful, was the part of the Italian section, especially The Tree of Life, planned and brought to *life* by Marco Balich, a guy (or rather now he is known for other things), whom I met during my journalistic years, when he organized concerts, et all.
At night, this beautiful (technological) tree is lit up in all its glory, and has a light and sound show, which is mesmerizing! It was the feature I loved most! All those beautiful colors, that magical Music! Indeed, a masterpiece of art, and technology at its highest peaks. Sponsored by Coldiretti, Pirelli, and the city town hall of Brescia...
This is a cool one...Fuchsia Tree of Life, with fountains et all... (Photo credits: the Princess of Rock, June 20, 2015/Sat.) Sights and Sounds...
Definitely, my favorite! Bravo Italy! (;o)*
I have posted some pictures for you readers/guests of my blog, to see...
Some other details and updates, will be added at random.
The Expo has counted millions and millions of visitors so far (it opened its gates to the world on May 1, 2015 and will close at our Halloween, October 31, 2015). The first month brought in approx. 2.7 million visitors from all over the globe. This year, if you can afford to, plan a trip to Europe, to see the Expo in Milan, Italy. Worth the visit! NOT to be missed!

Summertime...
sadness? I'm not sure if that's really what it is...it's a feeling of *sadness* and longing for my passing years, I guess...
I haven't written here since February (2015)...Demotivation? or what?
Anyway, these days I've been listening frequently to a single by the Smashing Pumpkins, entitled *Bullet with Butterfly Wings*, a track backdating to 1995. I love the beat...the video is kind of eerie, but that's the way Billy Corgan likes his stuff! lol! (;o)*
...The world is a vampire... (sometimes I think it is...or rather, some of its inhabitants: sucking the life out of you!)
May you all walk in sunshine...

p.s.: one of the reasons that I seldom come in here is also because no one comments... (;o(* So many visitors, but no comments...
(just a reminder: 13.268 visitors)

Moby's *Big Dream* and...maybe, yours too?! (~_*)
...The time has come to say the words...
This is a reversion Moby made of a David Lynch song from the past, entitled *The Big Dream*...I love this *noir* version, featuring a fantastic Mindy Jones on vocals (and facial acting). This short video was also shot by Moby ~ ♥ ~
All that Moby does, in my opinion, is awesome! as all that Moby produces or makes: He has that magical touch that glides over musical notes turning them into special sounds that will take you into different dimensions...
I had the opportunity and honor to interview Moby many years ago, and also see some of his live acts. A Great Artist indeed!
