Poems...by Melody Fox (aka the Princess of Rock) (km@copyright) (last addition: 2014.4.19/Sat. b4 Easter)

Have been looking at papers and throwing a lot of stuff away (I just got back from a trip and decided to do a bit of cleaning up...There is so much!  (and so little time...)  While doing all this, I bumped into a lot of files/folders, and a lot of memories rose up to the surface (some made me cry, some made me smile)

This is one of my poems from 1998, I had just returned from one of my many trips to California...

*The Wanderer*
by Melody Fox© (aka Kathryn M.)

He came from very far
His only companion a wandering star
The idea was to settle down somewhere
The big problem, though, was where...

Years of travelling were taking their toll
Yet this guy still had not set a goal
He was also silently hoping for the right *One*
To keep him from always being on the run...

He came from ever so far
His only companion a lonely star
I wonder if he'll ever find where *You* are...

Obviously a great tune by Johnny Cash (may he rest in Peace beyond the clouds) comes to mind--my poem's title came first!--while I'm writing.  U2's background vocals are priceless:

Love Peace Music...always and forever...

This is a *Thank You* poem I made up for a friend (she has
disappeared in the meantime!) in San Francisco, after putting
me up at her place (I found it last night while going thru papers,
to keep and throw away...)

Thank You
by Melody Fox

Instead of getting a *thank you* card
Figured, if I thought real hard,
Could come up with something you've never heard...

What are *Thank you's* really for
If not to express our love even more
For those who have shown *their* love
In so many unexpected and unasked ways
Who have made special my holidays
Even though some were also work days
Thank you for your time and friendship
Thank you for your patience and companionship
Thank you for *all* the things you did for me
Thank you for being like a Sister to me
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart
How sad for me when we had to part...

p.s.:  That special root beer float, the chicken pot pie,
fried chicken, taking me around...oh, what a delight!

Note:  As I was thinking on how to express my thank you's to
*my* Sister, Mimi

Thank you to Chris, too!

final part--whereas the whole *poem* was written

(Weeping) Willow Tree...

(Weeping) Willow tree so elegant and trim,
I look at you, and  tenderly grin...
Not in an ironic way,
But very tenderly and sweetly...
You have such a melanchonic look,
Yet on you I am really hooked...
Of all the trees, you are my favorite One,
I really love you dearly and some...

Why weeping willow?
Maybe because mankind makes you sigh,
Looking at all the mishaps from Nature's eye?

I look upon you,
With a different point of view...

Your branches are slumping down
With a sad frown...

You need more Love, as do all human *beans*...

You beckon to All...
Look at me,
Hug me,
Kiss me,
Love me...
For I am a (weeping) smiling Willow tree...

where the grass is green,
where Nature can be seen,
sitting under the shade of a tree
quietly and...happily...***(km*copyrig

Note added 2012.3.5/Mon. (also rime quote...)

Tracey Horn (EBTG) vocals here...so cool!  (no infringement rights meant...I wrote a little rime quote and I thought of Massive Attack's *Teardrop*, with Tracey's vocals on it...

my added (poetic) comment:

***when, on the globe, it rains,
it's teardrops from the sky's pains...*** (km*copyright)

The stars are twinkling in the sky at night
Moon is confirming her happiness bright
"War" is pulling it's shadow over the light
The sun is still shining high alright
Birds are chirping joyfully from their height
Children are playing with gleeful delight
While adults are wondering at their plight
Over and over again there's a revengeful fight
Obviously, there's always a question in sight...
When is there going to be a release
Who will embrace for first, PEACE??!

One by one the stars left the blue sky
As it started to undress
Drowning in the sweet anticipation
Of the flight down
To abandon itself
In the black nakedness of the world
Devoid of all worries and hurries
Nothing else mattered
(or was it the beginning of the end...)
